On Friday my parents and I decided to spend the first day of 2016 taking in all of Connecticut’s beauty. It’s obviously January so we know the snow will be here soon & the river, along with the rest of Connecticut, will turn into a icy wonderland; soooo we decided to grab a coffee and drive down to the Connecticut River for one last river side walk. One of my favorite things to do, is go on walks & just wonder around. Whether it’s walking around my town or taking a trip to a new place to hike, getting out and just moving puts me in a great mood.

So we got in the car and searched for the coziest little coffee shop, grabbed a latte & parked by the river. Sipping my latte and just wondering around the river was exactly what I needed to start my New Year off, however, I’ll be honest I was a little cold (story of my life) but once I started moving I warmed up.

Recently I’ve been obsessed with turtleneck sweaters , but I’ve been resisting purchasing one until I saw this Free People sweater go on sale! I grabbed it at 50% off & trust me I’ve already gotten my money’s worth, just ask Matt, I wore it about every time he saw me last week (no shame). Sweaters are a NEEDED stable, especially for all my New Englanders, so when a good one goes on sale, just invest! 

On a non-fashion related note, I’m spending this year trying to showcase my favorite elements of New England’s landscapes and I thought this rustic riverfront shoot was perfect to kick the theme off.
